HARMONY IN THE ZOCALO
Nostalgic evenings, music and ballroom dancing accompanied by the Band of Music of the State under the Bay tree (Laurel), in the heart of the city.
ART AND CULTURE IN AGENCIES, POPULAR NEIGHBORHOODS AND RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS.
Presentations of diverse artists, where you can enjoy music, dancing, concerts of groups of serenaders (rondallas) and folk dances, which take place in the zócalo (main square) of the city.
NIGHT OF LIGHTS
Calenda (procession) with lighted Lanterns, where Bands, Marimbas of the State and Orchestras are presented, and liven up popular dances.
Commercial establishments remain open up to 24 hours a day, promoting their sales by means of special offers in the historic center; the grand finale consists of traditional Oaxacan fireworks.
CULTURAL FESTIVAL OF THE ISTHMUS
Concerts, expositions, literary evenings, theater and dance performances, handicraft workshops and gastronomic sampling, with local, national and foreign artists in charge. Here you can admire the culture of the region, this event taking place in Juchitán de Zaragoza and Santo Domingo Tehuantepec, in the Oaxacan Isthmus.
TRADITIONAL CALENDA
This traditional manifestation with the mummery (mojiganga) of the bands of music; "Los Gigantes" (The Giants); lanterns with lighted candles; the Chinas Oaxaqueñas, with their colorful regional costumes and baskets of flowers; and the traditional Oaxacan fireworks is offered each weekend, to demonstrate our joyous folklore to visitors, inviting them to become part of our customs.
